Name: Tom Walstab
Car: 1968 Porsche 911L
Racing Number: 9
Favourite Track: Phillip Island
I became of member of Group S Racing in 2013, and then joined the Committee in 2016, now in my seventh year I'm honoured to accept the position of President for 2022. Our GSRA committee has a dedicated team of racing enthusiasts who do an amazing job ensuring its success and growth. I had been driving cars and karts at club level for a number of years before joining Group S Racing. While a very keen Porsche enthusiast, I’m passionate about all forms of motorsport - especially Historic and F1. I have an eclectic car collection that I love to tinker with, albeit as a very amateur mechanic. Infamous for my oversteer driving style, I was often seen drifting my short wheel base 911 on the limit, a new challenge in the 2017 season saw me bringing the big front engined V8 928 to the track - still sideways....!!! I am thankful that I get to share my passion for Historic racing with our fantastic Group S community.

Started racing in Group S in 2006 in a 1967 Porsche 911S, amassing some outright wins and class victories. Name: Damien Meyer
Car: 1969 MG Midget
Racing Number: 12
Favourite Track: Bathurst
Damien is a new member to the committee and has been involved in racing from the age of 10. Spending 20 years racing karts and having multiple National and state titles to his credit he then progressed to Formula Ford and then in more recent times into Group S in the quick little Midget. He also races Production Sports in a GT3 Cup Car so it keeps him quite busy! Damien is based in Sydney and spends his working weeks in the family business, Blinds By Peter Meyer which he and his brother run supplying across Australia and New Zealand.
Name: Sam Narkiewicz
Car: 1975 Corvette Stingray
Racing Number: 20
Favourite Track: Winton Short
Cars and car racing has been a love of mine for my whole life. From 18 years of age I was lucky enough to participate in the regularity events run by the VHRR, racing in a 1975 Porsche 911. I managed to pick up 2nd outright in my first event and have been encapsulated by historic car racing ever since. As I started to gain more experience and post quicker lap times I made the move to Group S Racing in 2017. Recently, I converted a 1975 Corvette Stingray roadcar into a race car which is my new baby and I can't wait to see some consistent track time over the next few years. I am an accountant by trade and joined the committee as the treasurer back in 2020 and love the camaraderie and thrill of Group S Racing.

Name: Tammie Hotz
Car: 1965 MG Midget
Racing Number: 70
Favourite Track: Winton Long
My life long ambition was to always be a Race Car Driver having grown up with a dad who raced cars well before I was born. It all started when Dennis Best and Bob Rowntree suggested I borrow Dennis's Group S Lenham GT to Start racing in Group S in 2019 which helped me to get my MA Circuit license endorsements. Our family now has 2 race-prepared MG Midgets and the one I drive and share with my son Blake is our Red 1965 Midget "Rocky". Blake and I co-drive together in the Group S Enduro's, we alternate racing in Group S and I also campaign the car in MG Racing. I am honoured to have such a supportive team with my husband Warren Hotz who maintains our cars to keep them reliable and looking good, and my kids who are our pit crew at every meeting. I am only new to the Committee this year (2024) in a general committee position but am looking forward to being part of the Group S family for many years to come. I have a real passion for Classic and Modern cars, I have owned many cool and classic cars, it's gotta be fast for road and track use. My weekend car is a 1960 Bugeye Sprite with a fast 1100 engine and my daily drive is a 2021 Hyundai I30N Performance. I work fulltime as a Business Development Manager for Victorian Mortgage Group and also after hours in our family business Hotzspeed Historic and Classic Autobody Restorations. I love motorsport and encourage more women to get involved.

Name: Hung Do
Car: 1972 Datsun 240Z
Racing Number: 6
Favourite Track: Phillip Island
Hung loves to race anything with four wheels with a particular bend towards old cars. He first raced in group S in the 2007 Historic Winton, he since campaigned regularly in most of the group S Victorian rounds first in a 1976 Porsche Carrera 3, then an Alfa Alfetta GTV 2000 and now a Datsun 240Z (This may be a record for the number of Sc cars raced by any one driver). Hung has been looking after the GSRA championship pointscore since 2010 and in 2016 has taken on the additional responsibility of GSRA Webmaster.
Name: Nick Taylor
Car: 1976 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0
Racing Number: 78
Favourite Track: Bathurst
Nick has been racing 911’s in Group S since 2004, however has been a regular in his Martini liveried ’76 Carrera 3 since 2008. Prior to entering Historics he competed various tarmac rallies and club events, winning the Porsche Club NSW Championship in 2001. As well as Group S, Nick campaigns a GT3 Cup Car with his father at Production Sports enduro events and gets on track as often as he can. With a marketing background, Nick took on this role in 2018.
Name: Brian Weston
Car: 1971 MG Midget
Racing Number: 75
Favourite Track: Bathurst
Brian Weston bought the BRG MG Midget Mk III in 1999. Since then, he and the car have been regular GSRA racers having now competed in over 130 race meetings. Along the way, Brian was the founding President of the GSRA, serving as President for five years (2006-2010). He still pulls the odd duty in an ex-officio capacity. Currently he is an ex-officio eligibility adviser to the GSRA Committee and Chair of the GSRA Pointscore Sub-committee. While the Midget is not as quick as its pilot’s previous mounts, such as the Hawker Hunter, Avon Sabre, Dassault Mirage III and F/A-18 Hornet fighters, the 1275 cc powered Midget is an entertaining, competitive and a fun little car
Name: Ryan Curnick
Car: 1969 Porsche 911E
Racing Number: 50
Favourite Track: Phillip Island
Ryan is a self-confessed early Porsche 'tragic'. The purchase of a 1970 911 started him on the road to over twenty years of driving, rallying, racing, restoring and collecting air cooled 911's. Ryan began competing in Porsche NSW club sprints before getting hooked by tarmac rallying, earning Gold plates in both Targa Tasmania and Classic Adelaide along with class and category wins. He then turned to circuit racing with the purchase of a Group Sb log booked 1969 911E. That 2.0 litre car has recently been returned to its original delivery colour of Bahama Yellow, making it easy to spot at Ryan's local tracks SMSP and Wakefield Park, and interstate excursions to Phillip Island and Winton.
Name: Colin Wilson-Brown
Car: 1970 Alfa Romeo 1750GTV
Racing Number: 11
Favourite Track: Spa
Colin has been racing in Group S since 1993. He has raced and rallied all over Australia in his red (what else?) Alfa Romeo 1750GTV #11. Colin began racing rear of grid and slowly improved over the years to win the Sb category Championship (Catalina Cup) in 2013. He has also won his class championship three times. He says he is beginning to get the hang of it. He was involved in the founding of the GSRA and served on the first committee for 3 years. Apart from taking on the Presidency for 2010-12, Colin also looks after the Lap Record Registers.
Name: Kent Brown
Car: 1967 MGB
Racing Number: 51
Favourite Track: Bathurst
Kent is a foundation member of the GSRA and was previously Vice President. He has had an interest in MG’s and historic racing for many years buying a TF “special” with a Holden grey motor in 1968. But it was not until the early 90’s that Kent was able to participate on the track, firstly in Regularity for a couple of years, and then Group S. Kent has also been the President and Secretary of the MG Car Club Canberra and is currently their Sporting Secretary. While his races his venerable 1967 MGB, owned since 1972, Kent also has an MGB GT V8 and an MG TC. Both these cars are regularly used in motorkhanas.
